Care you can trust…
Frequently asked questions…
Q: What are the visiting hours?
A: Visitors are welcome at any reasonable time of the day at all of our care homes and do not need to make an appointment. Friends and family are welcome to dine with our residents or enjoy some tea and cake. They can also take residents out to the local area if they are fit and well enough.
Q: Can residents smoke?
A: Whilst all of our care homes are non-smoking, each has a designated smoking area within the patio/grounds.
Q: Can residents drink alcohol?
A: Each of our care homes provide some alcohol for residents to enjoy, for example at times of celebration, or a sherry before Sunday Lunch. Residents are also welcome to keep their own choice of drinks, kept in their room or in our fridges.
Q: What belongings can a resident bring?
A: Our residents are provided with everything they need except for their clothes. However, to make their rooms feel more homely, residents are encouraged to bring some personal belongings such as pictures, blankets/throws, books or ornaments. It is not necessary for a resident to bring their own furniture, unless of course they would like to.
Q: Is there an activities programme?
A: All of our care homes regularly host games and activities. There is no set programme as residents can request activities whenever they like. Residents who are able are also taken off site, for example to visit local exhibitions.
Q: Where are the bedrooms located?
A: There are bedrooms on every floor of each care home. All are accessible by ramps/lifts and fitted with call bell systems. Each room is unique and all offer high ceilings and large windows with many boasting wonderful views, including of the sea, South Downs, bowling greens or gardens.
Q: What is the minimum age of a resident?
A: As long as we are able to provide suitable care in one of our care homes in which the resident will thrive, there is no minimum age requirement. However, life is about balance and we assess each and every client to ensure that each care home has the right dynamics for all our residents.
Q: What is the staff to resident ratio?
A: This can vary depending on care requirements or the time of the day, but is approximately 3-4 residents per member of staff. This allows our staff to dedicate plenty of time with our residents in order to provide care as well as companionship.
Q: How much does it cost and what are the payment terms?
A: Prices start from £458 per week and are payable four-weekly, in advance.
Q: I have looked round an Angel Healthcare care home and want to live here, what are the next steps?
A: A home assessment will be carried out by one of our managers to ensure we are suitable to meet your needs. With your permission, we may contact your GP. Once our suitability is confirmed, you are welcome to join us as a resident at an Angel Healthcare care home. During the first three months trial period, you are free to leave immediately if you so wish, thereafter there is a 28 day notice period.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us by email or phone, or visit one of our care homes.
